Menopause Test (YAA7)

Our Menopause Test is a comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate hormonal changes associated with menopause. It includes key parameters essential for understanding the menopausal transition.

PARAMETERS COVERED:
Follicle Stimulating Hormone
Luteinising Hormone
Oestradiol
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
Free Thyroxine

TEST PREPARATION:
Take this test before 11 AM. Take this test two to five days after the start of your period, ideally on day three. It can be taken at any time if you do not have periods. Do not take biotin supplements for two days before this test, discuss this with your doctor if it is prescribed. Hormonal contraception can affect the results of this test. Taking a break from this and waiting for your periods to restart before your blood test will give more accurate results.

LIMITATIONS:
Hormone levels can fluctuate significantly during the lead-up to menopause. Therefore, a menopause home test might show your levels within normal pre-menopausal ranges one month and indicate menopausal levels the next. Because of this variability, we recommend repeating the test the following month to obtain a clearer picture of your menopausal status. It’s important to note that contraceptives containing estrogen and progesterone, or high-dose progesterone, will impact your natural FSH and LH levels.
